Start with respect
Welcome people at different stages of their journey. Ask questions without belittling someone’s experience. Disagreement is welcome when it stays focused on the idea and respects the person.
Harassment, discriminatory abuse, threats, intimidation, and unwelcome sexual conduct do not belong here. Respect a person’s choice to end a conversation.
Be useful before being promotional
Share practical ideas, relevant opportunities, thoughtful questions, and lessons from your own experience. Put promotional content in the appropriate space and avoid repetitive pitches, unsolicited bulk messages, or irrelevant links.
Do not add members to WhatsApp groups, mailing lists, or sales campaigns without asking. A public professional profile is not permission for unrelated marketing.
Make honest claims
Represent your identity, experience, work, availability, and business relationships accurately. Label examples and concepts. Give credit to collaborators and creators. Do not invent reviews, results, customer endorsements, or connections to SEC.
Keep business promises realistic. No guaranteed funding, investment returns, loan approval, or exaggerated income claims. Share uncertainty and context when offering advice.
Protect the room’s privacy
Ask permission before recording, taking photographs, sharing conversations, or publishing someone’s contact details. Do not repost private community invitation links, applications, business documents, or support discussions.
Use private workflows for information that belongs only with the team or project participants. If someone accidentally posts sensitive information, flag it to the team rather than spreading it further.
Collaborate with clear expectations
Agree scope, deliverables, budget, dates, revisions, and ownership before starting work. Let people know when plans change. Respect other people’s time and intellectual property.
Use genuine completed-booking reviews to describe your experience fairly. Avoid personal information, threats, and content unrelated to the work. Do not request or offer fabricated reviews.
Make events and communities welcoming
Give quieter voices room, respect access needs, and follow the organiser’s reasonable instructions. Community leaders should facilitate participation, disclose conflicts, and treat members consistently.
Leadership is a responsibility, not a licence to access private information. Stay within your assigned community or support role and escalate issues that need an administrator.
Report concerns and ask for review
Use the reporting action on a listing or contact SEC. Include the relevant page, what happened, and enough context to assess it. Do not share unnecessary private information or make a public accusation while asking for help.
Depending on severity and context, the team may ask for a correction, remove content, restrict access, suspend an account, or escalate a serious issue. Reviewers should document decisions and avoid handling disputes where they have a conflict of interest. You can request a review of a moderation decision through the contact form.
The platform is not an emergency service. Contact appropriate local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
